Lying about 55 miles northeast of Harrisburg, the borough of Frackville is situated in the Schuylkill County in the heart of the anthracite coal region of eastern Pennsylvania. Also called the Pioneer Mom or the Pie Woman, the statue depicts a somewhat masculine looking lady in a bonnet holding a pie and gazing blankly towards the highway. Even more peculiar is the girl child clutching the woman's dress, with the face of a 40-year old man, dragging a decapitated doll across the statue platform. Located near the Granny's Restaurant, the statue of the Pioneer Woman is visible from all parts of the city of Frackville.
