Carlow University

The Carlow University, formerly known as, Mount Mercy College, is a popular Roman Catholic University in Pennsylvania. The university was established in the year 1929. The Sisters of Mercy who were from Ireland were the founders of the university. In the year 1969, the name Mount Mercy was transformed to Carlow College. It was the year 2004 when the college received the status of a university. Earlier, it used to be a women's college till the year 1945. After 1945, it was decided to admit men.

There are many small sites in Carlow university campus and some of them are as follows:

Frances Warde Hall – The hall is located in the middle of the university campus. The center also feature computer labs, dormitories and the main lobby.
Dougherty Hall - This building consist of about seven floors. There are business offices and coffee shops in the building that provides recreation for the students within the university.

Aquinas Hall – It is the ancient building in the campus of the university in Carlow. In this building, the subject of humanities is taught. There is also a computer classroom in the building and a separate class for students engaged in Creative Writing Program.

A.J. Palumbo Hall of Science and Technology – This building deals in subjects like biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. There are computer labs along with art laboratory equipments that are quite beneficial for the students learning science.

Antonian Hall – There are various departments in the Antonian Hall, which includes the Art Department, Information Technology department, School of Social Change and the Institutional Relations department.

The Carlow University aims to promote interest among the students to get involved in lifelong learning that helps one to think logically. There are also many clubs and organizations under the university of Carlow that arrange educational programs and show for the benefit of the students.
